We look to constellations for navigation, for stories etched in the cosmos. This image reimagines that idea for our own journeys. Here, a flock of birds becomes a living constellation—a new pattern of hope drawn against the warm, painterly sky of a new dawn. Each bird is a single point of light, a single dream taking flight. Together, they form a map made not of distant stars, but of collective will. I chose a soft, minimalist aesthetic to capture the feeling of a myth in the making. This is the story of migration not as a simple departure, but as the creation of our own guidance system. A new world is possible when we learn to navigate by the light of our own shared movement, following the constellation we create ourselves.

In the quiet order of a classroom, young women stand in unison, their posture a portrait of discipline and shared purpose. This monochromatic image captures the profound narrative of education in Nigeria, a story of aspiration and the collective building of a future. Each student represents a silent promise, a testament to the power of learning to shape a nation.

On the waters of Makoko, fishermen steer their canoes beneath the Third Mainland Bridge a meeting of Lagos’s past and present. Here, tradition flows beside modernity, and life on the lagoon endures in the city’s restless rhythm.

 The eye is not so naive as to think that the academia has a working conscience. The eye knows the academia in this university commission the felling of trees. The eye is baffled at their reasons but it knows it is for greed. The eye had no idea that the tree would be felled months after this picture was taken. The eye dedicates this picture to the felled tree, the trees felled overnight at Heritage Park and all trees felled without legitimate reasons, without sustainable replacements. ‎

Reimagining the city I call home, Kano, Nigeria in noir. This is a shot of the main entry way of Emir's Palace in Kano, also known as Gidan Rumfa. Seen at the top are pinnacles known as 'Zankwaye', prolific throughout ancient Hausa architecture denoting status and prestige, without which a facade in historic times would've been described as a "bull without horns"

In a single, cinematic frame, this photograph captures the universal journey out of darkness. The long, oppressive corridor is the present struggle, the tunnel of the old world we must all navigate. The figure, rendered as a universal silhouette, represents any one of us on our own personal quest. He is defined not by who he is, but by what he is doing: moving forward. He is the active agent of his own future, propelling himself towards the brilliant, undefined glow at the end of the passage. That light is the new world—the promise, the possibility, the reason for the journey. This image is a testament to the profound belief that a new world is possible, and it waits for those with the courage to push through the dark, and towards the light.

And Towards the Light

This photograph treats the sky as a canvas for our grandest ambitions. It is not just a picture of a cloud; it is a portrait of an idea. The towering, luminous cloud stands as a magnificent monument—the architectural blueprint of a new world, beautiful and yet to be fully formed. It is the castle in the sky that we dare to build. But a dream is static without the dreamers. The small birds are the crucial actors in this scene. They are us—the pilgrims, the emissaries, the people. We are small against the vastness of the vision, but we are in motion, flying towards it, navigating its light. A new world is possible when we are inspired by a vision so magnificent it fills our entire sky. It is this sense of awe, this monument to the dream, that gives us the courage to take flight.

A group of girls inspect an exhibition about climate change and  hope for the future . The artist drew inspiration from the past and imagined a future where the groundnut pyramids made a comeback in the future. The saying  " The future belongs to those who dream" and these girls seem inspired by these paintings which illustrate a future where the environment plays a vital role and  is protected for the future generations.

Hands of Clay ‎ ‎This image captures a potter at Dada Pottery in Ilorin, Kwara State; a community where the art of molding clay has been passed down through generations. ‎ ‎Pottery is an art that embodies culture and livelihood. It sustains local economies, empowers women, and preserves an identity deeply rooted in culture. It’s this heritage that shapes who we are.
